Appointments to the Board of the Child and Family Agency

Part 3 of the Child and Family Agency Act, 2013, provides for the appointment of a nine person Board, consisting of a Chairperson, a Deputy Chairperson and seven Ordinary members all appointed by the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs.

 Minister Frances Fitzgerald T.D. appointed the full board with effect from 1st January, 2014. Details of the current membership are set out below:

Chief Executive Officer

Part 4 of the Child and Family Agency Act, 2013,  provides that the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs may appoint the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Child and Family Agency for a term of office to be determined by the Minister.  On 29th January, 2016, Mr. Fred McBride was appointed as the new CEO of tusla, the Child and Family Agency.
